Featured Animal:
The feature animal of Splash!2013 is the harbor seal—the most prolific marine mammal in Puget Sound. These captivating animals are the only species of seal that breeds in Washington State, and they don’t migrate—making them excellent barometers of the health of the marine environment in which they live. That’s just one of the reasons it’s important to learn about and care for them.
Places to Be:
Splash!2013 opens its doors at the Seattle Aquarium’s Ackerley Foundation Puget Sound Hall at 4:30pm. Join us for one of Seattle’s premier silent auctions and a lively cocktail hour set among the Aquarium’s spectacular exhibits. Plus, enjoy an up-close view of this year’s featured animal with a visit to our newly opened harbor seal exhibit. At 7pm the party departs for a delectable dinner and live auction at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront.
Who's Coming:
Splash! attracts over 600 of Puget Sound’s key civic and philanthropic leaders, with a goal to educate and encourage the conservation of our marine environment.
Dress:
Resort casual wear complements the relaxed atmosphere.
Purpose:
Funds raised at Splash!2013 will support the Seattle Aquarium's mission, Inspiring Conservation of our Marine Environment, with programs that:
- Educate over 40,000 school children through hands-on, interactive programs.
- Rescue and rehabilitate northern sea otters.
- Teach families how all animals, including humans, depend on a clean and safe environment.
