Visit the Aquarium with your school

Seattle Aquarium programming is designed to enhance your school curriculum with hands-on learning opportunities. Come to the Aquarium for a self-guided experience, which allows you and your students to explore the Aquarium’s exhibits at your own pace, or attend one of our classroom programs to deepen your students’ learning.

Admission fees

Rates apply to pre-registered groups of 10 or more.
Adults/youth ages 4 and over: $10
Children ages 0–3: Free
Passes, discounted tickets, coupons and Seattle Aquarium membership cards are not valid for school group admission fees.

Are you with a college or university? Click here.

Program start times: 10:15am, noon and 1:45pm. We can accommodate two groups per time slot. Groups must arrive at the Aquarium a minimum of 15 minutes prior to the start of the program. Five minutes before the program begins, an Aquarium instructor will meet your group to take you upstairs to our classrooms. Please schedule your bus to leave the Aquarium no earlier than 10 minutes after the program ends as we cannot shorten classes.

Program length: 30 minutes for Sea Stars, Urchins & Friends; 60 minutes for all other programs.

Fees: Classroom programs are free with admission.

Minimum number of students is 10; maximum number of students for Pre-K is 25; grades K–12 is 32.

Due to space and safety concerns, a maximum of 10 chaperones will be permitted into the classroom. If your group requires additional chaperones, please inquire with the registration team.

Note: The Aquarium will be closed all day Friday, June 5, 2015.


 

 

Conservation education fund scholarships

Scholarship assistance for admission, transportation to the Aquarium and off-site programs is available to qualifying schools. Scholarships are awarded as funding is available. Priority will be given to 40 percent or greater free and reduced lunch or equivalent schools, Head Start, ECEAP, special needs and ESL/ELL classes. Limited funding available. Please request a scholarship online when registering for programs.


 

 

Science standards

The ocean is the defining feature of our planet. Ocean literacy means understanding the ocean’s influence on you and your influence on the ocean. There are seven principles of ocean literacy—ideas scientists and educators agree everyone should understand about the ocean.

Self-guided visit

Discover the Seattle Aquarium with your students! Guide them through face-to-face interactions with marine animals as they explore the exhibits, from the cool waters of Puget Sound to the coral reefs of the tropical Pacific. Make sure to stop by our hands-on tide pools and interact with a diver at one of our interpretive shows.
