Bring your family and friends to the Chittenden (Ballard) Locks to see salmon climbing the fish ladder and learn about the natural and human history of our region, as well as the life cycle and habitat needs of our local salmon. Sockeye, coho, chinook and steelhead salmon migrate through the ship canal, back to Lake Washington and its tributaries. Come find out how you can keep these special creatures returning to the Cedar River and other local rivers! This is a great activity for all ages. On hand to answer your questions will be volunteer Beach Naturalists from the Seattle Aquarium and Cedar River Salmon Journey Naturalists from Friends of the Cedar River Watershed.
