Enrichment Through Ice Toys

Ice toys are an important part of the Aquarium’s enrichment efforts, providing fun and development for the marine mammals in our exhibits. These enrichment efforts also provide us with the opportunity to educate our visitors and enhance their experience at the Aquarium.

To celebrate our marine mammals' birthdays, we make ice "cakes". This month we celebrate Adaa's, a sea otter at the Aquarium, 12th birthday. Bob Davidson, CEO of the Seattle Aquarium joined in on the fun and helped make ice toys for this sea otter's special day. Here are some pictures:
