We are closed to the public temporarily

Hello and thank you for visiting the Seattle Aquarium website.

In accordance with guidance given by the State of Washington, King County and the City of Seattle, the Aquarium will be closed to the public temporarily and all programming will be cancelled as a preventative measure to help slow the spread of COVID-19 through our community.

While there has been no evidence that any Aquarium employee, volunteer or visitor has the virus, we are closing out of an abundance of caution and to do our part to help protect the public’s health by implementing the state’s recommendations to limit community interactions.

We are disappointed that we won’t be able to welcome you to the Aquarium during this time, and we’re committed to furthering our mission of Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment throughout the closure. One way we’re doing that is by ensuring the animals in our care continue to be healthy, are doing well and are receiving exceptional care from our dedicated staff. Until we can welcome you back, we encourage you to see what the marine mammals are up to through our live cams, or view videos of your favorite exhibits.

We’re committed to trying to minimize the impact on our employees during this closure and are working to quickly determine staffing levels and impacts to scheduled hours across the organization. As a nonprofit these are not easy decisions, and we will be carefully considering our options and maximizing strategies to support our dedicated staff.

If you previously purchased tickets to visit the Aquarium, we will provide refunds/honor them at later dates. For refunds please email tickets@seattleaquarium.org or call (206) 693-6234.
