The Aqueerium: nudibranchs
When Wednesdays, March 17–May 12, 2021 at 4-5pm
*Note: This event is currently at capacity. Interested in similar programming in the future? Email Jules (they/she) at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Join our marine conservation club for LGBTQ+ youth! During our upcoming session, we’ll be focusing on nudibranchs. Whether you love them already or have never heard of them, you’ll get to learn about some of the most fascinating, wonderful little creatures found in the ocean—and the conservation challenges they face.
How can young people get involved in conservation advocacy? Why don’t people seem to care as much about invertebrates? What have environmental movements already achieved and what else do you think needs to be done? Where’s the LGBTQ+ representation in conservation? We’ll tackle these questions head-on, and you’ll have the opportunity to plan your own action and plug into the movement!
When? Wednesdays 2–3pm, March 17–May 12, 2021. (Eight meetings total; no meeting on April 14 due to Seattle Public Schools’ spring break.)
Where? Online! We’ll be meeting on Zoom for one hour each week. Join us from a phone, computer or tablet. We are happy to provide tech support and prioritize accessibility.
Who? LGBTQ+ youth ages 13–17 interested in the environment/the ocean/animals/conservation/ecology/social justice/making change/friendship or anyone who loves to learn and build community!
