Seattle Aquarium hosts virtual Splash!2020

This year’s fundraiser is free and open to the public. Donations will support the Aquarium’s Resilience Fund.

Seattle, Wash. The Seattle Aquarium and Honorary Chairs Ellen and Tom Gonser announce the virtual version of the annual Splash! gala, taking place on Friday, September 25, at 7pm.

Everyone is encouraged to register for the event and spend the evening celebrating Puget Sound and our world’s one ocean while helping to ensure the Seattle Aquarium’s important work continues. With no ticket cost to register, the Aquarium hopes the community will join together for this online fundraiser in support of its mission of Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment.

A thriving, vibrant Seattle Aquarium is a key part of Seattle’s identity and, even though the Aquarium has reopened its doors to the public—at 15% of capacity—it faces a critical shortfall in 2020. Additional financial support is urgently needed to ensure the Aquarium can make it through the pandemic and resume providing its full service to the community.

The silent auction opens September 18; the live auction will take place during the event itself. Auction purchases and donations will help the nonprofit Seattle Aquarium continue its important work of caring for animals, supporting staff, advancing science-based policies to protect marine wildlife, and educating the next generation of ocean advocates.
