Join us as Jackie Ogden shares her thoughts on mobilizing aquarium and zoo audiences to take meaningful action for conservation.
Jackie Ogden, Ph.D., brings over 30 years as an experienced leader in the zoological world. Dr. Ogden recently retired after 19 years with The Walt Disney Company, where she served as vice president of animals, science and environment for Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. She is well known within both the global and national zoological communities and served as chair of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) board of directors.
During her years at Disney, Dr. Ogden helped Walt Disney Parks and Resorts to achieve national and international recognition for their work in animal care and welfare, conservation, education, science and environmental sustainability.
Dr. Ogden consults with zoos, museums and associations, and continues to work with AZA on an innovative conservation effort: SAFE—Saving Animals from Extinction. She has served on a variety of nonprofit boards in addition to the AZA’s, including The Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund International; Emerging Wildlife Conservation Leaders; and GRACE, the Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Center.
