Splash!2019 honorary chairs
We’re thrilled to share that Ashley OConnor McCready and Mike McCready have accepted the roles of honorary chairs for Splash!2019. The McCreadys are active and generous supporters of the community, giving their names, time and energy to causes that are close to their hearts.
Ashley OConnor McCready has been involved in community advocacy in the Pacific Northwest for nearly 20 years, starting as a board member of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation and YouthCare. She’s also worked extensively with Treehouse, the KEXP capital campaign, the Seattle Symphony, Team Gleason, Path with Art—and now the Seattle Aquarium. She holds an undergraduate degree in business administration from Cal State Long Beach and is finishing a master’s in political science from the University of Chicago, Springfield. In addition to school and work in the community, Ashley and her husband Mike are the parents of three kids that keep them on their toes!
Mike McCready is the lead guitarist and one of the founding members of the Rock-&-Roll-Hall-of-Fame-inducted band Pearl Jam. He’s also been a member of Temple of the Dog, Mad Season, The Rockfords and Levee Walkers. Additionally, he plays with friends in Flight to Mars, a UFO tribute band that hosts charity events for the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation's Camp Oasis program and the Jennifer Jaff CareLine. When not performing live, Mike scores TV and film projects, which have included Elvis Presley: The Searcher, The Glamour & the Squalor, Shameless, Fat Kid Rules the World, Hawaii Five-O, We Bought A Zoo, Horrible Bosses and Fringe. Along with his wife and family, he is a community advocate, supporting many causes in the Pacific Northwest, including Treehouse, Path with Art, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation, KEXP and the Seattle Aquarium.
We agreed to chair Splash! because the ocean is essential to all life on this planet, and its health must be preserved. The ocean isn’t just a place of awe and beauty—it’s the ecosystem that fuels all life on Earth.
