The Seattle Aquarium is proud to help make our city a great place to live. With the opening of our new Ocean Pavilion, we anchor the transformed Seattle waterfront. This is a once-in-a-generation civic project that helps revitalize the waterfront community and downtown Seattle.
We welcomed over 1 million visitors in 2024.
We provide marine conservation education to over 40,000 schoolchildren annually.
We distribute over 60,000 complimentary tickets to over 450 community partners.
Support our regenerative vision
The Seattle Aquarium works in our regional “backyard” with scientists, educators and policymakers to protect and restore the health of our local waters and marine life. We collaborate with experts who are members of Indigenous communities, research organizations, neighborhood schools and local governments on these efforts.
The Seattle Aquarium was the first nonprofit to sign The Climate Pledge.
We became carbon neutral in 2012 and have been carbon negative since 2020.
We’re collaborating with over 90 partners on a world-first program to recover threatened shark species.
