Your visit makes all the difference

A white wave shape.

Your admission to the Seattle Aquarium provides more than an unforgettable experience—it’s an investment in marine conservation. Our Aquarium is operated by the nonprofit Seattle Aquarium Society. As a nonprofit, the single biggest way we support our mission, Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment, is by welcoming guests like you. Thank you for being an ocean champion by visiting us!

What your admission makes possible

  • Expert care for more than 20,000 animals: mammals, fish, invertebrates, birds and corals, plus plants—365 days a year.
  • Hands-on conservation education that inspires people of all ages to take action for ocean health.
  • Research, policy advocacy and species recovery programs that help protect and repopulate the marine environment we all share.
  • Programs that provide free or reduced admission to strengthen community and make the Aquarium more accessible for all.
  • The humans of the Aquarium: 250+ dedicated caregivers, educators, researchers, engineers, storytellers, divers, guest service professionals, fundraisers and technicians who keep the Aquarium safe, welcoming and running smoothly.

…and much more.

Your impact behind the scenes

Operating an Aquarium is complex and round-the-clock work, and the impact of your admission continues well beyond your visit. It funds:

  • High-quality, sustainably sourced seafood to help animals thrive.
  • Water quality monitoring and maintenance across our campus every day.
  • Veterinary and daily care and enrichment for the animals.
  • Sophisticated life support systems at Piers 59 and 60, the state-of-the-art Ocean Pavilion and our off-site Animal Care Center.
  • Rehabilitation and repopulation work that happens out of public view.

Simply by visiting, you are a force for care and conservation. Thank you.

A great option for locals: membership

Memberships are a tremendous value for locals who expect to visit at least twice a year. Beyond unlimited admission to the Aquarium’s three buildings throughout the year, they confer additional discounts and benefits. If you enjoy your visit, you can apply the cost of your ticket toward membership before you leave. Explore membership options.

We are proud to be a longtime cultural and scientific institution located on Seattle’s beautiful, revitalized waterfront. And we thank our members for supporting our work to protect the health of our treasured marine environment.

GiveBIG to conservation in action.

This year, we’ve set a GiveBIG goal of $70,000, and thanks to the generous support of Al & Pat Friedrich, Clint & Barb Bennett, Marshall & Janice Brumer, Michael Klein & Catherine Melfi, and an anonymous donor, every gift will be matched up to $30,000, doubling your impact.

Join us for After Hours: New Beginnings on Thursday, April 16, to celebrate spring and all the wonderful changes that come with it.

Today only, your gift will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $25,000 thanks to the generosity of donors Betsy Cadwallader, J & Tim, and Jess & Andy Peet. Help us reach our $50,000 goal!

End the year with a gift to the ocean.
