Frequently asked questions

Do I have to be at least 21 years old to attend an After Hours event?

Yes. By law, everyone must be 21 years or older to attend this event. Children (including toddlers and babies) are not allowed inside the Aquarium for After Hours events. Don’t forget to bring your ID.

Can I use regular Seattle Aquarium tickets for this event?

No. You can purchase tickets for After Hours by clicking on an event above.

If the event is sold out, is there a waitlist or a way to buy resale tickets?

Tickets are available on a first-come, first served basis and we do not have a wait list or resale ticket vendor. The Seattle Aquarium, in partnership with Eventbrite, is the only official vendor for After Hours events. To avoid problems with counterfeit, stolen or voided tickets, please make all ticket purchases through Seattle Aquarium-authorized websites only.

Does the aquarium offer any discounts for After Hours?

Seattle Aquarium members receive a 10% discount on tickets! Log in to your membership account or email membership@seattleaquarium.org to get the promo code.

Do you offer parking vouchers for evening events?

No, we do not offer parking vouchers. The nearby Pike Place Market Garage offers a discounted, flat rate in the evening after 5pm. You’ll find more information on their website.

How do I request a refund?

Click on “request a refund” or contact the organizer via your Eventbrite account to request a refund, including the reason for the request. Refunds will include the ticket price less the Eventbrite fees (which consist of the payment processing fee and the service fee combined). Eventbrite fees are nonrefundable.

Will food and drink be available for purchase?

Yes. Details will be communicated on the event webpage. No outside food or drink is allowed.

How can I pay for food and drink at the event?

Cash is not accepted. Payment options include chip cards with PIN entry and signatures for added security; credit/debit cards from all major credit card companies; and payment services including Apple Pay®, Google Pay® and Samsung Pay®.

I'm bringing people with me. Do my guests' tickets need to be in their names?

No. All tickets can be in your name for your guests.

Will the gift shop be open?

Yes, the gift shop at Pier 59 will be open from 7–10pm.

Is there a place to check coats and bags?

An unstaffed coat rack is available at no charge during After Hours events (space is limited). Bag and coat check are not available. The Seattle Aquarium is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged items.

Can I go outside during the event and come back in?

Inspiring Conservation of Our Marine Environment

We are honored to be responsible guests on the traditional and contemporary territories of the Coast Salish people, who have stewarded these lands and waters since time immemorial. The Seattle Aquarium is committed to developing a strong foundation for long-lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships with Tribal Nations, urban Native peoples and, as our mission grows, the Indigenous peoples of the Indo-Pacific and their local diaspora. We strive for reciprocal, respectful relationships rooted in the sovereignty of our Indigenous hosts. We too give thanks to the ocean and all our ocean relatives we have the honor to care and advocate for, be in relationship with, and be educators with for the future wellbeing of our shared Earth.
